This course is designed for the person who has completed the Nardis Defensive Handgun 1 course. If you show up for this course without taking Defensive Handgun 1 you will not be allowed to participate.
This course covers firearm safety through shooting on the move while engaging multiple targets. You will learn safety, threat assessment, a smooth and fast holster draw, use of cover and concealment, shooting a timed course of fire from the holster with a one and two handed grip. Then the course will transitions to shooting on the move in a variety of directions with magazine changes and while engaging multiple threats.
This class is four hours. We start in the classroom and build on the foundation we started in Defensive Handgun 1. Then we go to the range for live fire to apply what was learned in the classroom.

This class is three hours. We begin this proactive course teaching students the importance of developing a personal and home protection plan in the classroom. We then go to our state-of-the-art climate- controlled range applying what was learned in the classroom in live fire practice.

IDPA Match
This course is for the shooter that wants to have fun and make new friends while focusing on defensive tactics and practical shooting. IDPA Matches include scenarios that typically include drawing from a concealment holster, shooting from behind cover, reloading from slide lock, movement to cover, shooting while moving, and target discrimination between threat and non-threat targets. Shooters may have to shoot one-handed (simulating injury or having to carry an object). Despite its dynamic nature, IDPA events are extremely safe. The scenarios are run one shooter at a time under the close supervision of a Safety Officer. The main goal of the course is to practice self-defense pistols skills with a practical handgun. The match is 3 hours in duration, beginning with IDPA rules and safety procedures followed by shooting the match on the range.

This course is designed for the person new to handgun ownership, new to handgun shooting, or wanting to pass the Texas License to Carry Handgun Demonstration of Proficiency Demonstration. You can use your own handgun or one of ours. If you are deciding on a handgun purchase this is an ideal class for you to use one of our handguns and try before you buy.
The class is two hours. We start in the classroom learning the safe operation of your handgun and fundamentals of marksmanship. We then go to our state of the art climate controlled range applying what was learned in the classroom in live fire practice.

Introduction to IDPA Action Pistol Course

Shooters may have to shoot one-handed (simulating injury or having to carry an object). Despite its dynamic nature, IDPA events are extremely safe. The scenarios are run one shooter at a time under the close supervision of a Safety Officer. The main goal of the course is to practice self-defense pistols skills with a practical handgun. This course will be 3 hours in duration, beginning with an hour of classroom instruction (covering IDPA rules and safety procedures) followed by two hours on the range shooting four simple scenarios.

This course is designed for the person who has completed the Nardis Intro to Handgun course or currently has a Texas License to Carry. This course covers firearm safety, front sight focus to improve accuracy, holster draw, magazine changes, shooting while standing and seated, cover and concealment and engaging multiple targets. The drills we use in this course are designed to build a skill set to allow for the stress, speed and accuracy required for Defensive Handgun 2.
This class is four hours. We start in the classroom to build a safe foundation before we go to our state of the art climate-controlled range to apply what was learned in the classroom in live fire practice.

This course is designed for the person who has completed the Nardis Intro to Handgun course or currently has a Texas License to Carry. We cover presentation of the handgun from open carry, concealed carry, reloading, and correcting handgun malfunctions. You can use your handgun and equipment or ours.

Prospective students should note that there is NO instruction on shooting skills, and all students are expected to be able to safely operate their handgun and pass the proficiency exam.
Please consider our Intro to Handgun class if you need basic shooting instruction. If you do not pass the range qualification, you may be subject to a $35 fee in order to re-qualify.
You will need a safe, serviceable handgun, as well as 50 rounds of factory new ammunition (available on-site) and a current Texas Driver's License or ID card to complete the class. We do have rentals available if needed.

You can use your handgun with a Red Dot installed, or ours. If you are deciding on whether or not to purchase a Red Dot or would like to know more about a Red Dot that you already have purchased, this is an ideal class for you to get familiar with them.
