Texas Gun Club's IDPA Style Defensive Handgun Shooting Leagues offer shooter's, regardless of experience or skill, the opportunity to improve their skills, learn new techniques with practical defensive handgun and equipment to solve simulated “real world” self-defense scenarios. ALL shooters must be "TGC Holster Qualified" to draw from the OWB Holster during the competition. Shooters Not holster qualified to shoot competitively from the "Low Ready." Check-in time is 5:30pm, Orientation and walk-thru starts at 5:50pm. Hammer Drop no later than 6:00pm. Limited to 20 shooters. [$25 Participation Fee; Member Discounts Not Included. Shooters must be able to demonstrate competency in fundamental Pistol safety and handling skills to be eligible to shoot: Trigger discipline, safe trigger finger position until ready to fire. Muzzle awareness and discipline. Ability to safely load, unload and holster, keeping the above in practice. Participants may demonstrate the above eligibility to shoot by a minimum of prior training or qualification: Pistol 101 or higher level pistol training course completion License to carry training/license TGC Holster qualification *****Outside the waistband holster required and three (3) magazines 100 rounds of ammo**** Check-in time is 5:45pm pm Orientation and walk-thru start at 6:00 pm.
