This course satisfies the requirements of Idaho Code 18-3302K, enabling students to apply for an Idaho Enhanced Concealed Carry Permit as well as an Oregon Concealed Carry Permit.
Requirements:
Students are expected to have a basic level of proficiency with a firearm: Understanding and application of the four universal firearm safety rules while loading, unloading, and shooting, along with the ability to identify and clear malfunctions without assistance.
Students enrolled in this course will:
· Learn the laws pertaining to armed self-defense in Idaho
· Learn where the Enhanced Concealed Carry Permit is recognized and where it is not, including state reciprocity
· Understand the responsibilities attached to an individual who chooses to carry a concealed firearm
Additional course topics include:
· What kind of pistol to carry, how to carry it, and why
· Situational awareness and confrontation avoidance
· Adopting a defensive mindset
· Strategies and responses to an attack
· Psychological processes prior to, during, and after an armed encounter
· Legal processes prior to, during, and after an armed encounter
Students will participate in a 100 round standardized course of fire. It allows the student to identify what skills they need to hone, allowing them to carry and use a firearm with confidence.
Please note, this is NOT an appropriate course for new or inexperienced shooters. Students that are unable to follow range commands or safely handle a handgun may be asked to leave at the instructor or range officer's discretion. Please contact us at [email protected] for questions.

IDAHO ENHANCED CONCEALED CARRY PLEASE READ ENTIRE COURSE DESCRIPTION BEFORE REGISTERING! Class Duration: 8 hours (Two-day courses are 4 hours each) Ages: 20+ (Any student aged 18 and above is welcome to attend the ECCW class, but Idaho will not issue an ECCW permit to anyone under the age of 21) Prerequisites: Basic proficiency with a pistol: Ability to safely load, unload and clear malfunctions while applying the four universal firearms safety rules 100 percent of the time – if you cannot SAFELY load, unload, and clear malfunctions from your firearm without assistance, please learn to do so before taking this class. Required Equipment: • ONE Semiautomatic pistol (in a case or pistol rug) in good working condition with at least two magazines (three magazines if pistol has a capacity of 8 or less). Please read prerequisites). IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES: THIS IS NOT A SHOOTING COURSE. New and/or inexperienced shooters are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to reschedule until they gain experience and knowledge before taking this class. The 98-round shooting qualification is relatively fast-paced and shooters are expected to be able to safely handle their guns on their own. If a student cannot understand range commands or handle a firearm safely, they will be asked to leave and will not qualify. • If you have a new or unfamiliar firearm, this is not the appropriate venue in which to test it. Our instructors cannot clean or repair guns on the range. • Please respect everyone’s time: If a student misses 10 minutes or more of class, they will not receive a certificate (don’t buy a gun during a break) • If you would like to bring a back up gun in case of a failure, that is acceptable, but you will not have an opportunity to shoot multiple guns during the qualification.
