For the first time ever, private citizens have access to training from Armament Systems and Procedures (ASP) — a legendary provider of defensive tools and training to law enforcement officers and agencies around the world. Be Your Own Defender (BYOD) is the first and only training program of its kind. It was created, refined and tested over several years, by ASP’s international law enforcement training team. This moderately physically demanding clinic will introduce you to the deployment and use of the everyday carry flashlight as an option of force. This clinic will begin with a dive into the criminal assault paradigm and a discussion on the laws governing use of force in Wisconsin. Students will come away with a working knowledge of the light, its strengths and weaknesses, and be able to make an informed decision regarding personal application of the light as a defensive tool.
